What we love
Anguilla is natural and easy, a unique blend of high style and low-key elegance, and the best of the good life set to a slow and casual island tempo.
Tucked away in the northern Caribbean, Anguilla is a warm and welcoming island destination with unrivalled white beaches and stunning turquoise seas. But what makes Anguilla’s beaches the best in the world? Miles of strikingly white, powdery sand delicately border the lustrous blue-and-aquamarine waters. You could quite easily spend all your time on Anguilla swimming and sunbathing all day – and you can do so almost all year round.
This is also an island submerged in decades of rich history and teeming with exciting local culture. What’s more, the island is incredibly friendly, with both events and activities to cater all ages in a safe and natural environment. As with most of the Caribbean islands it is the locals that make them really special – and Anguilla is no different. Anguillians are genuinely happy to share their island with visitors. They are proud to share their history, heritage and life. Down every road there is something to discover; guided tours are available but the island lends itself to exploration, as it is easy to get around, and a helpful friend is almost always nearby.
The island’s rich history and personality is embodied in its culture and heritage. From the ancient Amerindian settlements, through European colonization, to the 1967 revolution, these and other events are woven into the tapestry of Anguillan life today. A British Overseas Territory, English holidays such as the Queen’s Birthday, Whit Monday and others are celebrated, but English-speaking Anguilla maintains a unique balance of historic influence that helps to create a truly individual island nation.
