Setting the scene
In the heart of the Berkshire countryside, surrounded by hundreds of acres of National Trust gardens and parkland, Cliveden House has simply stunning panoramic views over the River Thames and beyond.
There are just 37 perfectly appointed rooms and suites, this hotel remians personal, individual and offer the utmost in opulent privacy. Cliveden is proud to be able boast a number of famous figures from the past and present who have previously stayed at the hotel, and this is even more evident as each room is named after its former guests. From the characterful Club Rooms to the Deluxe Doubles at 45 sqm, through to the Junior Suites and culminating in the two Parterre Suites, at a vast 75 sqm and named after Lady Astor and the Prince of Wales - these exquisite, exclusive and extraordinary suites are the creme de la creme and are sure to wow any guest.
Cliveden also offers the Spring Cottage which has three bedrooms, set on the banks of the River Thames - secluded and romantic. Originally built in 1813, the cottage oozes English authenticity and is the perfect option for the discerning traveller whether a couple, family or group. Of course, take advantage of all of the facilities and services that the hotel has to offer!
André Garrett is a celebrated chef, joining Cliveden from one of Mayfair's most exclusive of restaurants. He has now put his name to the restaurant at Cliveden and produced the finest British dishes from the British produce in his very own meticulous, adventurous and highly skilled manner. Choose from afternoon Tea, tasting menu's or go a la carte and be sure to be blown away by your food, the service and the gorgeous surroundings.
However, if after a slightly less formal afair then make your way to The Club Room. Think Gastro Pub atmosphere with the highest quality produce, The Club Room is an old stable converted to make this delightfully relaxed ambience. The room is littered with comical touches with the chair legs shaped as horse shoes, the bar stool saddles etc. But be assured the food is not an afterthought as you indulge in yet more delicious inventions from Cliveden Houses talented team.
The Cliveden Flotilla is an authentic collection of lovingly restored vintage boats at your disposal for day jaunts down the river for a lazy picnic lunch, a champagne cruise to nearby Henley or whatever takes your fancy!
The hotel itself has a wonderful spa, The Pavilion Spa offers a unique experience in beautiful rural surrounding with high quality and varied treatments in ultra plush facilities. When after a more active few hours then take advantage of the tennis courts, squash courts, state of the art gym or locally the hotel can organise golf, horse riding, fishing, shooting, archery and more.
Shopping and cultural activities are also nearby.
Finally, if you have business to attend to then the hotel has everything in hand, from state of the art equipment to board and meeting rooms. Given the location, Cliveden works as a perfect meeting point.
A very family friendly hotel with large grounds and a great surrounding area, but please note that there is no designated Kids Club at Cliveden.
