What we love

From its humble roots as a pearl-diving centre, the sleepy fishing village of Dubai has transformed itself into one of the fastest growing cities in the world.

The destination

It has earned the reputation of being the new ‘gateway between the East and the West’ and is considered to be the most dynamic city of the Gulf States, and one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world.

Dubai could also been described as ‘a palatial playground’ for those wanting more; it is home to the worlds only 7 star hotel; The Burj Al Arab, and more recently the addition of the man made island The Palm, the bar has been set sky high when it comes to visitor expectations, but Dubai is a city that most certainly delivers on its promises and visitors are rarely left disappointed.

Today there are over 2 million people living in Dubai and a mix of over 200 different nationalities. This rich mix of cultures and influences means there is lots on offer for tourists to see and do, from shopping to snowboarding (yes really!) – Dubai has it covered.

Of course one of the main draws of Dubai is the year round sunshine, meaning that it is an ideal destination at anytime of the year. Getting there is a breeze – Dubai’s international airport is one of the main hubs in the world with over 85,000 people passing through everyday! There is also tax free shopping that will rival some of the best known shopping destinations in the world, especially for gold, jewellery and high end goods.

The phrase ‘just when you think you’ve seen it all’ could arguably have been coined in Dubai. It is a city that is constantly evolving and striving for bigger and greater things, it is no doubt ‘the’ city of the 21st century and a must for those craving excitement, fun and adventure
